Week 5 - New intensive

So we are up to week five, and onto the new round of intensives. I'm doing Post Production for the next four weeks at uni, which for this project we are redoing the sound to the first Kung Fu Panda Movie trailer.

Our first class in there was tons of fun, with our lecturer Tristan, who i have to say is an awesome source of information for post production, and whose passion and good nature make it super fun and informative class. We spent most of the first bit of lesson planning out what we want to do with the script etc. Then for the second half we got the Tv into the Tascam studio and did a bunch of voice overs. Something you got to give voice actors credit for is it's actually quite difficult to nail. Anyway, had tons of fun.

I did the voice for the Narrator. While Sahil did the voice of Panda and Callum did the voice of master Shifu. We got pretty much all the voice overs done, so next session we will get stuck into recording Foley sound effects, which seems like a bit of fun!

Once we finish that it'll be on to making a little tune for the intro of the trailer, doing something oriental. Should be something a bit different and a new challenge!

Other then that, i've been gearing up putting the final touches on my own release, which if everything goes to plan should be out by the end of the week. Looking forward to that so much, it's been such an awesome experience being able to practice everything i've learnt at University on this EP and i'm just keen to get it out there! Have spent the last few weeks doing alot of research on different digital distributors, talking to my friends in bands and just trying to figure out how to release it in the best possible way. So, fingers crossed this time next week our music will be out in the big wide world.
